Welcome to Bethel Lutheran School, Morton, IL
......with Christ himself as our chief cornerstone. Eph. 2:20
Our MissionWe, as believers and disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His Body here at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, in response to His Commission to make disciples of all peoples and in awareness of our unique, collective gifts, clearly see the mission before us to worship – to grow – to serve. Bethel Lutheran School offers a Christian Education for the whole child. Students in the school find identity, purpose, and power for their lives by living in God’s grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. The education is well rounded and provides spiritual instruction, intellectual achievement, social interaction, emotional development, physical education, and aesthetic experiences.

School Financial Report (Based on 11-month period ending May 31, 2009)
Standardized Test Scores Outstanding scores were reported this year. %ile=percentile. This is the percent of schools that we performed better than. For example, a 96 in the percentile column means that we performed better than 96 percent of schools nationwide on that particular section, at that grade level. GE = Grade Equivalency. This number does not necessarily mean that our students would be capable of entering the grade equivalency listed. This means that this is how a person of that grade equivalency would be expected to perform. For example the GE 10.1 listed under 5th grade language represents a sophomore in high school in the 1st month of school. This doesn’t mean that our 5th graders are ready to be sophomores in high school. This means that if this test were to be administered to the average high school sophomore in his or her 1st month of school, he or she would be expected to perform at the same level as our 5th graders did.
Service ProjectsServing others is an important part of our school culture. Listed below are many of the service projects we participated in over the past school year. We raised enough money this year to be able to install a SmartBoard in every classroom. These SmartBoards will be used to enhance our already strong curriculum. We are also implementing a service work graduation requirement next year. Our 8th graders will each be developing a service project called “Making a Difference”. We are also instituting a small group concept called “Core Groups” in our Jr. High to help students approach relationships and decision-making from a Biblical perspective. God’s Peace, John R.
