Here are some of their comments on what they "took away" from this year's convocation:
Mrs. Hoyum: “I went to a session on web apps for young children. The presenter was the technology coordinator at his school and gave us an hour of free educational apps. He had apps that applied for preschool through eighth grade students. He also gave us the web address so we could see his power point presentation at any time.”
Mrs. Brown: “I attended a couple of different sectionals on how to have those difficult discussions with parents and over all communication with parents.”
Mrs. Rauch: “I learned that it just as important to share success stories from your school along with the stats.
I also learned how important it is that our students know their faith so that they can defend their faith.”
Mr. Jacob: “Through two of the seminars I went to I want to help Bethel push to become a school of innovation and inspire our students through moving to become a STEM school. Through what I learned we can develop a framework of innovation and have many STEM resources that we can utilize from what I received at the LEA Convocation.”
Mrs. Wyzard: “One sectional I attended was titled Visual Faith. Visual Faith is a way to lift up others to the Lord in prayer. One idea shared was Praying in Color. This is a way students can interact with God that creates a visual reminder of their prayers. Other suggestions shared that I hope to use with my students include making prayer cubes, praying the alphabet, illustrating the Psalms, and creating an Advent calendar. “
Based on the above comments, the teachers got lots of great ideas to help their students, their classrooms, and our school.
