Our MissionWe, as believers and disciples of Jesus Christ and members of His Body here at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church and School, in response to His Commission to make disciples of all peoples and in awareness of our unique, collective gifts, clearly see the mission before us to worship – to grow – to serve. Bethel Lutheran School offers a Christian Education for the whole child. Students in the school find identity, purpose, and power for their lives by living in God’s grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. The education is well rounded and provides spiritual instruction, intellectual achievement, social interaction, emotional development, physical education, and aesthetic experiences.
Message from the Principal - June 2008Greetings from the Queenwood campus of our ministry. Another year is in the books….and what a year it was! I am pleased to announce that our school went through the re-accreditation process and passed with flying colors. It was an exhausting process, but also very rewarding. The accreditation team confirmed what we already knew. We have an outstanding school with outstanding students and parents and an outstanding staff.
This year is also a year of many great sports accomplishments. We have had great seasons in all sports at all levels, but to save space I have just listed the varsity sports major accomplishments below..
Along the way, many lessons were learned about teamwork, disappointment and graciousness. I was very please with the Christian attitudes and great sportsmanship of our coaches and players.
This is also the time of year to say goodbye. Teachers have to say goodbye to their individual classes. As a school, we have to say goodbye to our eighth grade graduates and any other students that may not be returning. This is also a bittersweet time as we are bidding farewell to our beloved Mrs. Rumbold. She will be greatly missed and very fondly remembered. On the other hand, we are looking forward to welcoming our newly called teacher, Miss Annie Hinck, a new graduate from Concordia University in Nebraska.
While it is always sad to say goodbye, we have the comfort in knowing that our students are going out prepared. They not only have received an outstanding academic education, they have been exposed daily to God’s Word and Christian instruction. I am proud of our students and the growth that I have seen take place in them and I am happy in the role our school has played in that growth.
Thank you for your help in this process and your continued prayers and support.
John Jacob
