BASKETBALL
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations to the Varsity Boys
Basketball Team for winning 3rd Place at the LBAA National Tournament
of Champions in Valparaiso, IN. The team played Divine Redeemer of Hartland, WI
(the Wisconsin State Champions), Holy Cross of Ft. Wayne, IN, Pilgrim Lutheran
of Minneapolis, MN, St. Peters of Columbus, IN and Immanuel of Palatine, IL.
There were also teams from Texas, Florida, California, Nevada, Iowa, Tennessee,
Missouri and Nebraska in the tournament. The team played some of their best
basketball of the season with everyone contributing. Once again our team
defense was outstanding; holding opposing teams to under 5 points scored in the
1st quarter of each game Bethel won. This group of young men has
been instrumental in starting a tradition of excellent team play at Bethel Grade
School for the boys basketball program. Many of the players started playing
together in Kindergarten at the instructional program. They have accumulated a
total of 184 wins with only 37 losses since beginning their competitive play in
3rd grade and a record of 162 wins with only 20 losses beginning with
5th grade. Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Basketball Team on an
excellent season!

The Boys Varsity Basketball Team and Coaches
would like to thank all of the parents, grandparents and siblings for their
physical, mental and financial support this past season. We could not have had
the success we enjoyed without this tremendous support. Thanks to Jeff Anderson
for keeping the scorebook and Zach Peterson and Joel Haworth for keeping the
Stat sheets at the tournament. Thanks also to Jason Marks for video taping our
next game opponents (it really made a difference) and your words of advice and
praise. We also want to thank the cheerleaders, their coaches and parents for
your cheering support at the National Tournament and the entire season. Our
fans were so loud at most games at the National Tournament our players could not
hear the coaches. Thanks to John Jacob for opening up the school for the live
webcast of our game and all of the fans who watched us over the webcasts this
past weekend. The parent/fan support from Bethel has been great all season!
